Updated Tutorials

Well after wrestling with Flash all day I have managed to post our new Tutorials section! You will see that we have updated the look and feel and almost every tutorial. We have also added a couple of new ones at the same time. A special thanks to Aaron Stewart from Central Christian Church for recording these videos for everyone to use. You can go watch them at http://www.planningcenteronline.com/home/tutorials.

The videos launch immediately, and the feed is almost fluid. That’s good. However, most of the videos that I viewed seemed to have a “popping” in the audio.

Is that due to the compression you chose?
To achieve better audio, would the videos be slower in opening?

If I wanted to use flash on our website for sermon delivery, what is the best software and procedure? We already have streaming mp3 and podcast, but video would be an asset.

    Thanks,
    Douglas

    Hey Douglas,

Thanks for the comment, I am glad you like our video tutorials. I am not sure what is causing the poping sound, it is probably our encoder, we just used the one build into Flash MX. I know that the newer versions of flash have better encoders and there are some great third party encoders. The encoder our church uses is called Sorenson Squeeze, you can check out our streams at http://streaming.go2southwest.com.

Flash is definitly the best way to go when streaming your sermon since it is so widely accepted. I believe 98% of all people browsing the internet have Flash Installed.

Please let me know if I can do anything else to help.
