I do have coding skills. But California? No way. I’ll stick to my low cost of living state of Georgia.
No ROR, always wanted to dabble in it though, and would GIMP count instead of Photoshop?

I’m small-time compared to the requirements you’re asking for, but that sounds exciting! Nice perks! I pray God leads you to the right person for the job. All I can do with anything other than html is look at code, identify variables and adjust them. Makes people think I can code, but I couldn’t do anything from scratch in those languages. I’m good for ideas, critiques and feedback however.

I wish I had coding skills. I’m just a worship leader.

I meet all your requirements but I’m firmly rooted in SC. I’ve been telecommuting successfully for three years though — sure you’re not interested?

WOW!! I have been coding for 45 years, yes they had tubes back then and those are some powerful skills you are looking for in one person. You will need Gods help .. Good Luck and God Bless,

@JV: Go ahead and apply! We might not get the person we want who can move here, but sometimes it doesn’t work out.
@Dave: We are really focused on the coding skills Ruby/HTML/CSS, design is a huge plus.

Sounds like a great job. I have experience with XHTML/CSS/Javascript (Jquery)/Photoshop, but I won’t be available until after December, unfortunately (still in college).

@Drew: Keep an eye on this blog. We might be doing a summer internship program. Lots of programming, fun & XBoxing it up!

Lots of programming in XHTML/Javascript/CSS. RoR is still slightly foreign to me and I live in Indiana. I would like to apply, need to know your cool with what I offer first.

I’ve been working with many programming languages for years, mostly C/C++, but I enjoy the web-based environments as well. I was really surprised at how little requirements this position actually takes. I am in no position to apply or move, but I wouldn’t consider Ruby, Javascript, CSS, or XHTML/HTML to really be difficult languages. Then again, combined with photoshop it might require some left-brained thinkers to use their creative side.
Good luck, I hope you guys find what you need! The benefits for this position sound very promising, you all must be doing very well.

I have 14 + plus years in web application development and currently working as a Technical Project Manager. I succcessfully telecommuted for a national financial software services company for 8 + plus years. I am very interested as I want to work in a more Christian centered environment but cannot move to California as I am rooted in Louisiana. Thanks for the opportunity- I will submit my resume!

I am a current Computer Science (Information Technology) major at University of North Florida and would be interested in the internship program and potentially more. Have some experience in what you are asking for, but most importantly have the skills to learn and adapt easily. I look forward to submitting a resume and I am watching this form too.

XBoxing it up? I’m in!

I would potentially add user centered design to the requirements. Often you may not find the exact coding skills you are looking for but a progamming generalist. I.e. someone who understand design but for realization of the design it’s YAPL (Yet Another Programming Language). I know among my team, languages/technologies are rapidly learned. It’s finding the user centered design/developer mix that’s the real trick. These people often have the creative side and are the types that play with photoshop “for fun”.
Those with user centered design experience and development experience would probably serve the role quite effectively as long as you give the person the time to get up to speed.
HTML, Ruby on Rails, CSS are pretty straightforward technologies/languages for a smart developer IMHO
. Like anything there are the quirks but as long as the “quirks” are factored into the schedule, I’m sure the person will do fine. Just make sure they are a quick study and have some degree of advanced development experience!
Good luck! I know from experience, it’s hard to find user interface developers

While I have extensive coding skills, your target is rather narrow. I hope you find who you are looking for. Sounds like fun.

Although RoR is awesome, I think there is a lot of hype behind it. CakePHP is the equivalent to Rails in the PHP realm. If you decide to go that route (PHP), let me know.

Our church is looking at your service and just from looking through the features I had a feeling it was RoR. Unfortunately, I have no desire to move (but I do love California) – my family and church are all here at home. Looks like a great gig, I do admit…
@sonny – RoR is awesome – where I work now we serve 20+ million dynamic page views a month using RoR for a free/paid subscription web site (granted, we rely heavily on memcached, but that’s not really Rails specific). While no single technology should be used for every purpose, RoR does great in the web realm. (BTW – while I work full-time as a Rails developer, I also do contract work, much with PHP…and of my two personal sites, one is in Merb the other CakePHP, which I’ve found to be my favorite PHP framework)

I’m very interested in breaking into working in a faith centered arena. I play with GIMP and am very comfortable with Photoshop, Image Ready, CSS, Javascript (both prototype and jquery, as well as very able to code without either), but sadly, I have yet to learn RoR. Currently, I’m working with a team developing within the Drupal PHP CMS framework, so I’m not unfamiliar with web based technologies, but without RoR, would you still want my application? Also, though I am very comfortable with Photoshop and other Adobe products, and have a good eye for user friendly interfaces, I’m a coder first and foremost, with graphic design more of a hobby than a profession.
I’m very grounded in PA right now, so moving to CA would not likely be an option, but I telecommute to my current job one day a week right now, so I am comfortable with the various technologies used to work remotely.
If you are interested in my resume, please let me know, and I will send it in.
